The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Saturday that the rather strong high pressure system over upper Thailand would bring cool to cold weather with strong winds to the region.

Meanwhile, the strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South, bringing continuous rainfall to the South.

People in the South should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and water runoffs, the department said.

Waves about two metres high are likely in the Gulf and above three metres during thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution.

The department also added that the category 5 typhoon “Vamco” over the middle South China Sea would make landfall over Vietnam by November 15, bringing isolated light to moderate rain over the Northeast and the North on November 15-16.
