Among the other tasks before Obec are reducing students’ study time by allowing schools to manage more active learning classes, as well as allowing teachers to use activities for an exam or teach students in real situations, Amnat said.
He said the moves followed an Obec top management meeting, which discussed the policies of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, and Education Minister Natthaphon Teepasuwan.
Amnat said he had assigned the Office of Academic and Educational Standards to work on these issues and to propose to the Cabinet by September 15.
“Obec is preparing to pilot reduction of homework for students in the first semester of the academic year 2020 and it will be implemented in the second semester of the academic year 2020. Obec will inform the teaching and learning guidelines for teachers, for example, using technology to help them learn and teach, project-based learning management, problem-based learning, etc. Obec will prepare various details for Office of the Educational Service Area and schools to experiment and reflect the management’s awareness of problems that arise in the area ” said Amnat.
