Number of Covid-19-free provinces in two weeks increases to 33

The situation in Thailand has started to get better as the number of provinces without a new case in the last 14 days increased by four to 33.

Prachuap Khiri Khan, Sakon Nakhon, Surin, and Ayutthaya are the new additions.

Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, revealed on Sunday (April 19) that nine provinces had not found any confirmed cases. They are: Kamphaeng Phet, Chai Nat, Trat, Nan, Bueng Kan, Phichit, Ranong, Sing Buri, and Ang Thong.

The 33 provinces with no cases in the last 14 days (April 5-18) are: Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Lamphun, Tak, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phrae, Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Rajaburi, Samut Songkhram, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Udon Thani, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Maha Sarakham, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Roi Et, Kalasin, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon, Surin, Phetchabun, Saraburi, Nakhon Nayok, Lopburi, Rayong and Ayutthaya.

However, the number of patients in Nonthaburi and Bangkok had increased.

The 10 provinces with the most cases are: Bangkok (1,425), Phuket (192), Nonthaburi (150), Samut Prakarn (108), Yala (99), Pattani (90), Chonburi (84), Songkla (56), Chiang Mai (40), and Pathum Thani (33).
