The Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand has urged monks and novices to wear medical masks while travelling to places to receive offerings from people and follow other preventive measures on Covid-19

The Sangha Supreme Council is the governing body of the Sangha, or Buddhist community, in Thailand, and is the ultimate authority on all religious matters.

The council’s leadership consists of high-ranked monks, who consult the Supreme Patriarch on administrative and theological matters. The organisation was founded on January 1, 1963, and its headquarters is in Nakhon Pathom province.
