lso, the council has ordered the monks and novices to follow the Ministry of Public Health’s guidelines, and has prohibited temples from holding events at this time.
The Sangha Supreme Council is the governing body of the Sangha, or Buddhist community, in Thailand, and is the ultimate authority on all religious matters.
The council’s leadership consists of high-ranked monks, who consult the Supreme Patriarch on administrative and theological matters. The organisation was founded on January 1, 1963, and its headquarters is in Nakhon Pathom province.
