Yamaha develops special Covid-19 examination booth

In collaboration with Ramathibodi Hospital, auto-making giant Yamaha has developed the prototype of a negative pressure booth for use in the detection of Covid-19 cases.

Pongsathorn Auamongkolchai, executive vice president of Yamaha Thailand, said the company has delivered its first such booth to Ramathibodi Hospital, adding that the company has also donated up to 100 motorcycles worth more than Bt6 million for medical personnel to use when travelling to monitor Covid-19 cases.

Songkhla hotel braces for 300 returnees from Malaysia

Staff at a Songkhla hotel are preparing the place to welcome Thais who will return from Malaysia via the Sadao checkpoint from Saturday (April 18) onwards.

The M SOHO Danok Hotel in Samnak Kham Subdistrict, Sadao District, will be used to quarantine returnees for 14 days to monitor their symptoms and prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Authorities expect 300 of the estimated 3,400 Thais stranded in Malaysia will gradually return via four Thailand-Malaysia border checkpoints, starting on Saturday.

Returnees must show a letter from a Thai embassy or consulate, and medical certificate issued in the past 72 hours, to enter the country.
